Anal Butt-Dwelling Monkey

I swear. Not really, because then I would be a heathen.

But some professors are just so.....urrggg. Well, hopefully I straightened him out in my email. :D

Um, ok, I am slightly frustrated with how poorly my email works on the home internet system, and since dial-up is slower than a LAN connection, I will be posting less frequently if at all. You may have to (sniff) wait to read my owrds of wisdom until next fall.

Well, gettin' off because I don't wanna tie up the phone line. Yay for being home and for a holiday weekend and for a potential job and all of that good stuff. Adios, everyone.

One Memorable Night

Wow, that was a great time! My day started at 7 AM, when I got up to get ready for class. I went to class (singular, only one that day, woohoo) and work and in between worked on my projects and tore apart our lofts and rebuilt our beds. I left right after work at 3:30 and went straight home, getting there at 6:30. Betesy got off of work at 7-ish but she had to shower, so we hi tthe road for the Pod's at 7:30.

Then began the Star Wars party. We had SW Ep II playing but there wasn't an extreme amount of watching going on. We ate and dressed up in our costumes. Mine involved a lot of painting of the face and hands, since I was going as the decaying emperor. Betsey looked GORGEOUS in her handmaiden costume (she basically looked like Padme, yup, that's my sister). Lauren ended up going as Yoda. She was SO CUTE in her green paint and her hair in pigtails and wired so that it stuck up like Yoda ears. Jori was aMAzing as Darth Vader. She had a full mask and the chest-piece and had made her own cape. She also had the gloves. Haha, it was SO awesome! Mother Pod went as Qui-Gon, and she was hilarious as she tried to accessorize (sp?) for a male Jedi. We took SO many pictures. We looked great. I even had a cane that went with the outfit! Jori painted it and did something crazy with a dull hatchet to make it all bent and gnarly. It was awesome.

The movie...wow. It was incredible. The special effects were beyond description. They get better with every movie. There were so many worlds because now Lucas basically has no limit to his imagination (with computers as advanced as they are). The acting, to my surprise, was not bad. I had heard it was going to be pretty wooden, but I did not get that feeling at all. It was very well done and helped connect a lot of pieces. (although Jori and I are convinced we found discrepencies)

Well anyways, afterwards I drove Betesy home and headed back to Rose at 3:00 AM. I had to stop for gas, but otherwise I made it all the way back without having to stop. Let me tell you, that was the longest drive back to Rose I have ever experienced.

I got back at 6:00 AM and got into bed at 6:30. I slept until 7:55 and went to my 8 o'clock class. And now I am writing this. By the way, I got a 93 on my physics test, the highest test grade I have ever gotten at Rose. a;hfa;vc;wae;hA;!!!!!!!

I'm excited. Ok, I have to go, lots to do today (including the truss-bust competition! Yikes!).

If One Could...

body-slam a physics test, I just did! Ha, there, I said it. I mock you, o weilders of bad test grades! I actually express my confidence beFORE I get the exam back! Because gosh dang it, this time I for really truly did well on it! Wahoo!

I hope.

So there it is. That grade should replace my last grade (hehe, if it could be called a grade with those negative signs in front of it), and now I just have to focus on - choke - the final.

So what is this craziness about the LC emailing me to say that I am working this Thursday? I most certainly am not! And I am out of work study as it is (I believe). But I for surely certain didn't sign up for work then. I remember specifically the slots being filled. Plus I have TWO (not one, but TWO) review sessions DURING that time frame. No sirree, I refuse to do it. Find somebody else. Grrr.

Ok, lots of fun and busy and hard stuff going on nowadays, so I shall get off and get to one of them. Take care and remember, only a week and a day (eight days unless you count weeks as that good ole old song "eight days a week, I loo-oo-oo-oo-00ve you", in which case it would be nine days - but its not cuz its eight) left until I get to go home!! I have an interview and job-searching awaiting me. PLEASE let me get a job! I need one oh-s0-badly. Ok, really, adios all.

Yay Rachel!

Thanks for the update, Kyle. That is SO cool! I haven't seen Rachel in forever, but I think she has been on the lung transplant list for a long time, and now she is finally getting a pair!

I like hearing good news about diseases like that. There are far too many sad cases that don't have the happy endings. Rachel is the bomb and she deserves this so much!

Holy cow, is she a senior now too??? Little Rachel??!! Insanity. I wonder what her future plans are? Sheesh. I swear she was 14 like last week.

Ok, now that I officially sound like an old woman, I will stop and get back to "work" at the LC. Of course, I think I have already exceeded my work study amount. But since my latest paycheck hasn't been processed yet, the LC doesn't know that and I will have to be compensated for this week as well. Hehe, I love the system. So with the people that do run out of work study, I guess they just quit coming to work unless they want regular payroll. I wonder if that puts the LC in a bind. Oh well. Alright, I'm off. Can't wait to see my beautiful sister perform this Friday and Saturday! And to see SW Ep III this Thursday! And to be DONE with school next week! Ok, bye!

Finals Stress Relievers

1) Try to lick your elbow.

2) Have a group meeting and play dodgeball (everyone against the most annoying and/or useless member).

3) Try to find your roomie (could keep me occupied for days).

4) Wear everything you own backwards.

5) Walk around campus in a bathing suit and a sheet (no, I have not done this).

6) Jump off the top of your dorm building into a pile of snow (all the cool MIT kids are doing it).
*note* requires snow

7) Every time the person you are doing your homework with leaves the room, erase his/her latest work.

8) Scream.

9) Find four middle-aged canoers to send you pictures. Eek.

10) Go outside often and lay out. And then get bored. And then jump into the weed-infested lake full of ugly white fish with water that tastes really bad and has hot and cold spots and the ladder is broken so you have to swim to the other side to get out and you get lost because you are swimming on your back and you end back up at the deck so you have to swim all the way back across the lake and you get weeds stuck in your hair because you are swimming on your back and then you have to walk all the way around the lake in only your suit because your stuff is at the deck and then you end up in a sheet. And people think you are dressed unseemly.

11) Repeat number 10. Cuz it's fun.

12) Complete every final in a foreign language. Even the math ones. Use Greek letters.

13) Watch a movie named Saw with your roomie and a couple of other people and then have them all leave you alone for the night with a huge imagination and see how late you can stay up.

14) "Don't Ask Me How I Know" is a good song.

15) That last one wasn't something to do but this one is: tear up your final fifteen minutes into the exam while yelling "freedom" in a heavy Scottish brogue. Then pause and sit quietly at your desk. Raise your hand and ask politely for another exam because you lost the last one. Repeat every fifteen minutes.

16) Try not to use the letter "e".

17) Pretend you are Peter Pan and your Spanish teacher is Captain Hook.

18) Take all of the ARA dishes in your room back to the cafeteria and go tell your coach that you already lifted for the day.

19) Fresh out, folks, but I will probalby think of more further into the week.

Disclaimer: If you have seen these before (Jaymi), it is because I SAW NO COPYRIGHTS, so lay off me, alright!!?? I would have added "I'm starvin", but that most definitely has a copyright. Somewhere.

When You Begin To "Get" Dilbert...

...run like your pants are on fire.

...you have finally become an adult.

...check your back for a stress hump.

...say good-bye to carefree weekends.

...you are probably at Rose.

...reality has taken over that cozy little idealistic world you used to live in.

...you have to accept it. You are now a tool.

..."geek" is now a term of endearment.

...you run to go read the comics and the first one you look for contains full sentences, no superheroes, and no pop culture.

But if you discover yourself disliking "Calvin and Hobbes", you have officially lost your entire sense of humor. Please do the world a favor and leave until you find it again.

Woooooooow.

That had to be the most random play I have ever seen. I just saw Picasso at the Lapin Agile. Supposedly it is a Steve Martin comedy. Oh my. Good ole Steve must have been higher than a kite when he wrote this one.

The lines and characters didn't really go together. Some of the lines were extremely dirty. And the Rose-quality performance didn't help it much. But hey, the sound and lighting was really good. And I did laugh at a few lines, I'll give you that. It was sad that the most laughed-at lines were the ones involving math. Ha.

And I don't get the pie joke dang it.

Well, let's just say that Joseph was better. It didn't have a 3-minute silence in which I wanted to jump up and down and yell, "Pick me!" I swear I could have fed them the lines faster. Good times. It was a fun night, however slightly horrible the play turned out to be.

Time to have a fun-filled Friday night with Jess and maybe Erff. Bye everybody!

Job Schmob

I hate looking for jobs. Yes, I want one, and yes, I want a career. But looking for one is the worst EVER. So I'm applying all over the place now. I may make a trip home sometime to apply, we shall see. If I get back early enough Wednesday the 18th, I can pick up all the applications I can get ahold of, though that may be too late by then. Whee, this is so fun. I guess I could always stand by the side of the road and hold a sign. At least I'm qualified for that job.

So much for internships. Ha. That worked out well. Next summer though, DEFinitely. Companies will get so sick of me breathing down their necks that they will hire me just to shut me up. Or they will hire illegal assasins to track me down and get rid of me quietly. Yes, that is opposed to the legal kind. Thank you.

Ahh, it's great to be in a good mood. And I should be after two hours of Mel Gibson. Heh heh. Well, I'm off, time to...get a job??? We'll see. Take care!

Haha, I just spelled my own name wrong. I was paying my housing deposit for next year and the lady asked me what my name was. I was like "Erin. R-E..." Then I stopped. Cuz that was ridiculous. She ignored me and said "I-N?" I said "Yeah." Rein. It's a great name. She did write it down correctly though. I managed to spell the last name right though. Amazing.

Whatever I feel like doing, gosh!!

So everyone's almost done with college for this year except me. They are all taking finals right now. I WANNA TAKE FINALS. No, I don't care that I will be missing 3 weeks worth of information. I just want to be done. PLEASE.

Had a lift test. Mr. Retarded did not interview me, however, as he had indicated he would. Instead, he said he would get back to me if I was still in the running. If he wasn't going to hire me, he should have just told me so I wouldn't have to drive up and back TWICE for this interview. I better get the darn job. Especially since my lift test was at 6:30 AM on a Saturday. Ridiculous.

Went to a weding this weekend. It was amazing! My cousin (the one getting married) sang to his bride at the altar...awww!! No one knew it was going to happen except for about 6 people. Sarah, the bride, was totally surprised. It was so sweet! "I'll be here. I will be here, when the..." and so on. It was awesome.

Then we headed to Luke and Lacey's apartment to celebrate Luke's birthday (a little late, true). It was fun, we played this game, Settler's something-or-other. That was Luke's present. Plus I gave them my Italy gifts. They liked 'em, I think. Grace is huge! She can sit up all by herself and she screeches...she's adorable. She has us all wrapped around her little fingers. Seriously, one cry and there are upwards of 4 or 5 Rumleys in her face, holding out toys and speaking in slightly scary baby gibberish. It's amusing.

Well, gotta go get ready for the day. Hope this post holds off the wolves for a while.
