The Lord Works In Mysterious Ways

Have you ever met that person that just wouldn't apologize? Ever? Because he knows everything there is to know, after all, and he is always right. Well, I just got an apology from that person. As close as he ever gets to an apology, I would assume. Yup, the affore-mentioned Jerk-Face has been moved to the PMSing Man in my Order of Species. He said, and I quote, "Should have been done sooner," as he handed me the envelope. Woot! I felt pretty good about it. So now I am off to do statics (maybe calculus) and pack. Italy tomorrow! Can you believe it?

As Per Request:

Well, I have a few minutes before going to get my recommendation from Jerk-Face, so I shall blog as requested. You see, I have been extremely busy the past few days. Due to multiple scholarship and job applications and homework and volleyball and work, free time has been hard to locate and posting has suffered because of it. As well as sleep and nerves, but hey, spring break starts tomorrow. I am going to invest heavily in this break, folks. Of course, I already have about one grand invested, but beyond that I mean. I need this break and I will take advantage of it.

So, I got recommendations from two professors for a scholarship. Two professors as different as night and day. Yes, I gave them a two-day deadline (my bad), but one said "ok", asked for my information, and had my recommendation ready and sealed two days later at third hour. The second (good ole Jerk-Face), grilled me and made me cry (afterwards, I wouldn't give him the satisfaction in front of his face) the first time, then two days later at fifth hour still didn't have it ready. He said to come get it at 4:20. Ten minutes before the mail is picked up. It has to be postmarked by tomorrow. So off I go to get that recommendation and send it off. Hopefully the doc will have it ready. I'll write more later.

This is the statics assignment that never ends...

And it goes on and on my friiiieeeeeeennndds! Some students started doing it not knowing what it was, and they continued doing it forever just because this is the statics assignment that never ends...

Well you get the main idea. I don't have time for this stuff, I tell you. As you can see, it is already past 12:30 and I have much more to accomplish. So I am sitting here typing this instead. I need to pack for tomorrow as well. I'm just taking a break, no worries. Soon it will all be over.

So what homework should I take home? I don't want to take anything bulky (Danny's car is rather miniscule), but I really think I should take calculus because I can do it quickly in a down time and still spend lots of time with family and friends. You see, I would do nothing at all this weekend until I got back, but KT and I have a recruit coming Sunday night and I will be busy enough with homework as it is without getting her all bored since we won't have any time to talk to her.

Well, I shall go see if I can figure out these last three problems, or at least get an answer down (which is what it is looking like more and more). Toodles!

Fo shizzle.

Wow, I just took my physics test today, and I didn't just pass it...I know I passed it and I think I did really well on it. Woot!

Of course, then I left the room with test in hand and didn' t realize I still had it with me until I got back to my dorm room. I speed-walked to Dr. Granieri's office and gave it to him, but he didn't seem to care at all. I was really worried, and now I just laugh at myself. What an idiot. Whoops.

Time to get as much done as possible before practice. I have 2 statics assignments and a calc assignment to get done tonight. Since I spend on average 6 hours per statics assignment, I'm thinking about 13 to 13 and a half hours of homework tonight. Should be done by my 8 a.m. class. That's good I suppose. I'm going home tomorrow! Nothing can bother me. Well, I guess if I lost an appendage in a fight with the Rose geese, that would bother me. Otherwise, though...

New News!

Haha, I think I just aced a calc test! I took it bright and early at 8 a.m. today and I think I rocked its socks off! I wasn't sure about it until I talked to Danny right after the exam and he got all the same answers I did. Woot! Pretty sure I did great on it...I can't wait to get it back and see how I did.

Today I have physics lab, which should be interesting since I am switching partners and neither of us know who our previous partners are. Heehee, I guess we'll just see them in lab today and put them together. I had to write the prelab for this lab, and it's amazing how much more sense it makes when you read it first! Hopefully we'll do spectacular on this lab, but it will probably take a while to do since there are so many steps. Guess that's why they give us three hours to do these labs.

So I finished all the paperwork to become an SA for next year. Then there are interviews and recommendations. KT and I want to be SA's together. If not, though, there is always New Res! Oh yeah, it has a name now, but I don't remember what it is. I think everyone from this year on will continue to call it New Res...only next year freshman will probably call it by its real name.

Alright, calc homework time...if I have time. Gotta finish up some scholarship stuff as well. Take care.

I Try So Hard...

to get so far. But in the end, it doesn't even matter.

"Uh...Dan?"

This was my first response when Dan and Emily came to surprise me at college. Dan came up to the concessions window where I was working and just started to order a candy bar. I just stared at him for a while. It didn't make sense in my head why he was there. Then I was like, "Dan? What are you doing here?" And I started to get excited. Then Emily came around the corner and I flipped out. I couldn't believe it! There were seven of of us working the concessions, so they didn't care about me leaving. So Dan, Emily, and I left.

We spent the day together bowling (where Emily and I lost miserably), at Pizza Hut, the mall (Emily bought me the cutest pair of earrings!), ping-pong and pool at Chauncey's, Subway, then my room to watch Napolean Dynamite and The Ring. It was so much fun! The next day (today, incidentally) we went to church together at Maryland Community Church, the church I attend with Katie. It was great. We followed that up by a trip to Red Lobster for dinner. They wouldn't let me pay fpr anything!

They left at about 2 p.m. to get back to Portage and then the big GR. It was an amazing weekend! Now I just have to do homework, but I don't even care that I didn't get any of it done earlier. This was so worth it! They completely surprised me; I didn't suspect a thing! Well, I have to get to calc and statics now, but yay for good surprises and amazing family! I love you guys!

Nerves are setting in.

Wow, I'm nervous. I just called Mr. Elwood, got his wife, and am waiting for a call back. Yikes! I have a rough draft of a cover letter written, and tomorrow I will be going to get it all checked out along with a triple-check for my resume. I really want a job this summer! Hopefully all of this will pan out.

Haha, so I was trying to locate Dave's blog to comment back to him (don't worry I found an easier way), and I thought it was something like davesblog.blah so I typed that in. I stumbled upon a very hilarious and very not Dave's blog blog. If you need some entertainment and are REALLY bored (cuz this is kinda stalker-ish), go to davesblog.blogspot.com and enjoy! I especially liked the IM message one and the poem. Yes, I am a dork, but it was too funny to not read. What a guy, this Dave!

Ok, update: Mr. Elwood just called me back. He's a great guy! He is going to look into any openings for me for this summer. Woohoo! He didn't know anything off-hand, but hopefully he will know people, since he is kind of a head-honcho where he works. Wherever that is. LOL, I just realized I have no idea where that is. Whoops. Should be fun. I hope it relates to mechanical engineering, but believe me I won't be picky if he finds something for me.

Alright, homework time. Have a good night or whatever time of day it is when you read this!

I really liked the random question.

So I decided to post on it. First read the random question in my profile. Then enjoy the fruits of my logical mind:

Disposable space shuttles of course! One, because that's all I'll know how to make if I finish out college the way I am planning, and two because people pay for convenience. Who wants a huge space shuttle sitting in their backyard (and on the house and on the front yard) when they could just chuck it in the trash with the rest of the used utensils? Think of the convenience to mankind! Space shuttle sales will skyrocket!

Here's a random thought for you: Did you know that a lot of people post simply to talk to each other? Why don't they just IM or email them? It seems much more logical to me. Well, there's my thoughts for today. Whew, so much mental activity wore me out. Later, folks!

Oh man.

So I am about to go turn in an assignment in statics in which I know I got the completely wrong answer for the last problem. What stinks is that I spent over six hours on that homework assignment and still didn't get it. I'm fairly certain about the first one and I know I got the second one right. It's frustrating, but at this point I just don't want to spend anymore time on it.

Well, I made it to work and all my classes, turned in a homework assignment, took a quiz, and got an article all in time, so hopefully that will compensate for the statics issue. I just want to take a break, but that's not likely very soon.

KT and I are going to practice together today since we're not having regular practice. KT's gimpy again though, so I will probably run and lift some more after we are done fooling around.

Joseph is playing this Friday! We are going as a team to cheer Erika on. It's going to be a blast!

Waiting on my shelf for me to have the time to pay attention to them again are Julius Caesar, Hamlet, The Return of the King, and Mere Christianity. Wow, I want some free time! But before all of that, I have to get scholarship and job applications out and finish my homework, a never-ending task. I'm not even procrastinating this time and everything still seems to be piling up! I swear I only worked half as hard last quarter and still had less to get accomplished. Oh well, such is life. Time to run! Love you all!

SMILE

Because life isn't that bad. It's the blink of an eye, folks, and whatever you're dreading, loving, or stuck in will be over. Enjoy it while it lasts. Complaining may seem necessary, but in reality, there is always something to be thankful for. If you look for those things, suddenly everything seems better. Life is suddenly enjoyable again.

There's something I am in the middle of learning. No one wants to sit and listen to you complain. Who wants to hear that? I know I don't, so I should expect nothing less from others.

Yay for good volleyball buddies, getting homework done on time, and funny project team members. Have a good day, folks!

Quarter Break Is Officially Over, Folks

First day of classes was today. I am officially going to rock this quarter! Just so you all know.

I was late for my first class of the new quarter. My alarm went off at 6, but I shut it off and told myself I would just lay there for a few minutes. Should have known better, I know. Next thing I knew, it was 8:07. Class starts at 8:05. I was ready in record time. And I didn't miss anything important either. I really like Dr. Graves, my first hour calc prof. He was super nice, didn't notice me come in late, and was really funny. He also throws the dry erase markers across the room into the trash cans and makes it almost every time. I didn't know he did that and he scared me when he yelled, "Josh, move!" and hurled the marker over the heads of fellow students into the trash can. It was fun.

I had one quiz already today and another on Wednesday. Welcome back, everybody!! Lots of reading left to do tonight and I'd like to get some calc and physics problems done too. Like I said, I'm all over this quarter! Well, time for dinner soon enough. Take it easy, life's hard enough.
