It Slipped Right Through My Fingeeeerrrsss...

A Mulan quote there. Application: the money I just keep shelling out by the hundreds and thousands. I just paid off my laptop loan, you see. Aw man, that's a lot more moolah (sp??) slipping away.

On another note, Mom, read the comments from my previous blog. I commented back on your comment. Not too important, I just didn't want to write it again here.

Classes start tomorrow!! Wow, I am going to be busy again! And by busy, I mean no-sleep dog-tired busy. Maybe. We shall see how I manage my time. Hopefully I am better than I was last year. And hopefully my con apps prof won't hate me.

Our first match is in two days! We have two that day and two the next. Then the next weekend is the Rose Invitational! Woot woot!

Alright, I'm outta here. Have a good one, everybody!

Aaaarrrrrggg

I am so BORED!! Shoot, this is insane. I find myself eating, sleeping, and writing on this blog just to fill time. Craziness. I'm kind of looking forward to school, although my con apps prof is going to hate me. I say that because we just got our departure sheets for volleyball and I miss his class on Fridays about four times, once on a Tuesday, and twice on Thursdays. That means I will miss tests, lectures, and quizzes on what is reportedly one of my hardest classes. Woot.

But I am looking forward to taking my Literature of War class. I will be reading a lot in there, including The Red Badge of Courage, which I have heard is a classic. Yay! Finally, a humanity I am interested in.

Well, just shooting the breeze, so I will go now and look for something killer exciting to do. Adios!

Correction...I Know Your Father

Ok, that was a quote from Lion King, but what I really meant was just the first word. Apparently, you solder rings together, not sotter. Just setting the record straight. Ok, have a nice day, bye!

I've Decided:

I look really good engaged. Haha, seriously, I do! My roomie had her promise ring on and gave it to Coach for practice. Then she forgot to get it after practice. Since I was going to the ISU/IU match with Coach and some other girls, KT had me pick up the ring for her.

I wore it all during the game and the rest of the day until I saw KT again. Yup, it looked pretty good. It's silver. I was debating whether to get silver or gold, and now I am leaning towards silver. Matt (the manager) suggested platinum, but 1) you have to clean it more and 2) it is SUPER expensive and 3) silver looks exactly the same to me. So why bother?

Then I went into the diamond decision. Square, rectangular, or round??? Huge? Small? Lots of diamonds? Only one? Wow, so much to think about. A big band or a little one, two sottered together, or one that has engravings and carvings on it?? Do I want color or just the traditional diamond with silver or gold?

Aw man, the decisions! It's a good thing I have about ten years to figure it out, huh?

Why Thank You

I am rather partial to my blog's new look myself. You see, I was waaaay too bored yesterday, and I changed a lot of stuff in my blog; the whole template, some of the profile, and the little info bar at the top. Heh heh, if I am still bored today, it will probably change some more.

It is my roomie's second anniversary with her boyfriend today, so she will not be around. We don't have practice. There is freshmen orientation. Therefore...I have nada to do. That means I can do WHATEVER I want; and it also means I will probably not be able to think of a thing to do. Any suggestions would be happily accepted. By Thursday I will be loaded up with homework, so I need to go out and do stuff now.

Well, I'm out, take care and have an amazing day!

What Is New??

Weeellll, not too much that is exciting. I bought books yesterday, for a grand total of 311 something dollars...plus the 4 or 5 dollar book I had to get at the mall because the bookstore did not have it in stock. I visited some people around campus...the SA's, mainly. I saw Ben and Caleb (Speed 1 SA's) and I went to David's room but only Zekis and co. were there, so I just told them to say that I said hi. I went to almost all of the dorms and talked to some people. I saw Kyle in Speed, but he was busy with freshmen stuff, so we just said hi.

I am missing a roomie, but maybe when she gets back we can go get dinner or something. New Res is filling up! I kind of dread the return of a few, including the boy who won't leave me alone, good old Joe. Otherwise it should be fun.

LT...our only senior on the volleyball team and one of our captains...just had surgery yesterday. She had her gallbladder removed. We wanted to do something for her, but we didn't have a card, so we all signed a piece of Rose-Hulman letterhead paper...hahaha, we are so loving. Coach went out and bought a bracelet for her as well, so we did do something for her.

Some volleyball girls and the managers and Coach went to an ISU/IU match down in Bloomington today. That was fun! The girls are SO good...I guess that's the difference between Division III and Division I. IU won, and they were aMAzing. It made me want to play some more, which is a good thing.

I love my family, and I wish I could be there to help out my sister in her transition into college; she is doing fine, great actually, but I still want to be there with her! Fending off boredom in the days that we have nothing to do is kind of tough. I am still used to ten-hour workdays; not having the hours filled with busyness is killing me! KT and I did watch a movie last night, so that helped a little. Now I am jsut wasting time, however. I should go run a load of laundry...woohoo! And clean the room. Sigh, the drudgeries...

By the way, here's the latest on the volleyball team. We went from 15 girls to 11 in the course of the preseason (we lost Jerikar before the season even started, but she is WAY too busy with being an SA, so we understood), and our captain is currently out of play for at least another week, if not 2 or 3. That leaves 10 healthy girls to play...and our first game is in a week. We get along SO well, and I think we are a really strong team. I feel like I need to step it up, but I have so much to learn still...and I am! I need better timing and no hesitations; I think if I nail that, Coach will play me outside a LOT and middle a little. Haha, we will see. I have lots of ground to cover.

Now that I have sufficiently bored you, I will leave you alone. Go enjoy your day!

Domino Effect

Well, one more down. Eleven to go! Honestly, I think that was the last one. Hopefully. LT has surgery on Friday for her gallbladder (taking it out), so she will be out a week (2 max). That leaves ten girls. But we are kicking butt! We have to work so hard, and it is really good for us. We work well together and so far there really isn't that much drama (except for the girls leaving).

We had a "team bonding" night yesterday. We drew names and made posters for the girls whose name we chose. Then we presented them as a group and the next day (today) put them up on our lockers. They look really cool! Ashly Trantham drew my name, and she made such a cute poster! It has me (with a curly fro, haha) with a word-bubble that says "grrrr!" because I say that all the time. Then it says in big letters on the rest of the poster...well, I'll get back to you on that because I forgot what it said. Oops. I drew KT's name!! That was fun, but I'm not really creative. We found out Brandi is pretty much an artist, though. Some girls just did a great job! It was fun.

Tonight we go out for ice cream on Coach because of the serving challenge she gave us (we hit balls into the ball carts on a serve or a mat on the floor....woohoo!). It should be great. Today is our last day of two-a-days...wow!

Soreness is working off, hallelujah! Take care, people. Off I go.

Droppin' Like Flies

We lost another one today. Sandy quit (sniff). We liked her a lot, and she liked us, but she was flipping out about school, so she is just going to concentrate on that this year. Maybe next year. She will probably play spring season with us like KT did. Adios for now.

Well...

They did not all stay on, referring to my previous post. We have already lost one girl (who did not actually play in even one practice with us). Just thought I'd keep you posted. But 13 is a good number for a team. It adds intrigue. That said, I will probably hit the sack soon, considering practice starts at 8 tomorrow.

A Not-So-Deep Post

For those of you who get bored easily.

Volleyball has started. So far I have done one complete day of practices. About eight hours in all. My legs (butt and thighs, mostly...yeah, thought you would like to know) and right shoulder are quite stiff. And I did something obscenely painful to my right pinky toe. Not sure what, but it is swollen and red...poor little guy looks like an itty bitty sausage attached to my foot. It hurts really bad to play in, and it's all because of those stupid new shoes. So I shall be wearing my old ones (the ones with no support whatsoever) for today's (Sunday) practice. Hopefully that will give my toe time to heal.

We have 14 girls if they all stay on...MASSIVE!! Haha, it's fun, but I still miss the freedom of summer. And it just means school is going to start that much sooner. Yuk.

Oo, good song. We are listening to country, you see, and it's "Would You Like Fries With That?". Hahaha.

Ok, gonna get going on my bumming. Talk to you all later...comment and let me know you are all still alive!!

Point Two Seconds of Your Time:

Hi everyone! That's my favorite short number, by the way. Ok, just sayin' hi. I'm about to head out to Jaymi's to par-tay, so I will see most of who reads this in an hour. Love ya all, and I'll post something meaningful probably during volleyball preseason; which is in - gulp - two weeks. Off I go!
